Blink 182 are auctioning off their gear to support LGBTQIA+ suicide prevention

If you consider yourself a bit of a Blink 182 fan, you’ll love to know that Mark Hoppus is currently auctioning off the band’s vintage gear.

The prized possession of the auction will be Hoppus’s 2002 Fender Custom Pink Plaid Precision Bass guitar.

“We call this plaid bass ‘Groundskeeper Willie’. I wrote a great deal of the bass riffs for the [2003] untitled album on this bass. It has the sticker of the unicorn on there and the pink Famous Stars and Straps keychain that has been on here for the past decade and a half.”

All proceeds will be going to the Trevor Project; “a leading organisation providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) of young people under 25.

Hoppus will also donate an extra $5000 on top of the auction profits.

The auction will continue until July 8th and ‘Groundskeeper Willie’ is currently being bid for $69 000.00 USD.

If you think you can top that, you can place a bid here.

Almost 80 other pieces of gear and instruments will be for sale once the auction is over from The Official Mark Hoppus of Blink-182 Reverb shop, hopefully at more affordable prices, and more information can be found here.
