Witness the heaving wave of Sydney rock n’ roll this November with atmospheric prog rock newcomers Without Wings

Sydney’s Without Wings might not be a name you’ve heard yet – the five piece are still relative newcomers since they joined forces in 2015. The band has been pushing their rendition of beefy, atmospheric rock on live stages since their inception, and next month the debut EP from this promising act is hitting the shelves.

The release titled Catharsis will be accompanied by a celebratory gig at Hermann’s Bar aside the idyllic Sydney Uni on November 18th. As the culmination of 18 months work to date, it’s a show that’s sure to get just a little loud.

Lend an ear to the next generation of progressive rock this November at the launch of Without Wings’ debut EP Catharsis, in what’s sure to be the kind of big night only uni bars can deliver.

Given that Without Wings members Chris, Roger, Simon, Shaun and Kyle are itching to play to a packed-out, messy venue, a bar opposite one of Australia’s largest universities is a top choice. You know what you’ll get with a uni bar on a Friday night; big crowds, cheap drinks and loose units.

A couple of weeks ago the group dropped Legacy (Beyond My Reach), and it’s a great way to get initiated into the Without Wings sound – not surprising considering it’s the EP opener. It’s the rare rock song you’ll want to throw your head around to as well as sing along with. Between choral vocal moments and rancid hard rock breakdowns, sometimes you won’t know which is the better option.

Warming up the heaving crowd of students will be fellow Sydney rockers The Knowgoods as well as Breaking Point for the more metal inclined. No ifs about this one; it’s going to get damn loud, straight from the get go.

The night is Friday November 18th – jump in anytime after 8pm for a good time.
