A couple of weeks ago, electronic producer ZHU announced that he’d been busy working on a collaboration with Tame Impala‘s Kevin Parker. The track was actually previewed a couple of weeks before the announcement at FOMO Festival. Now we have the official version.
That collaboration between Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker and electronic producer ZHU is finally here. Check it out below.
Titled My Life, the song sees Parker and ZHU sharing vocal duties, with Parker’s dreamy verses contrasting nicely against the stark hook “let me live my life”. While being a far-cry from Innerspeaker or Lonerism, there’s definitely something Currents-esque about the hazy vocal treatment and smooth, crisp instrumentation.
Parker has been keeping himself pretty busy with collaborations as of late. A few months back it was announced he’d recorded three songs alongside SZA and Mark Ronson. And last year Ronson told Stereogum that he and Parker had recorded “eight or so new songs”. He was also snapped in the studio working with Travis Scott.
