It was nine years ago that the dust settled on Harry Potter’s epic struggle with the dark lord Voldemort. The series that made author J.K. Rowling more wealthy than the Queen and not to mention an entire generation wish they had received their Hogwarts acceptance letter via owl post, came to a close in 2007 with the final installment Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows bringing the story of Harry, Ron and Hermione to a close. Well kids, it’s time to dust off your robes because Jo Rowling has revealed there is in fact an EIGHTH HARRY POTTER BOOK COMING THIS YEAR.
Have we all collected ourselves now? No? Well we don’t blame you. The announcement came via the Pottermore website that The Cursed Child Part I & II will be released in book form this year. From what little information that has been given thus far, it seems the story will revolve the now adult Harry and his son Albus Severus. And a child. Who is cursed (we assume).

The Cursed Child will open as a play on London’s West End on July 30, with the printed and digital editions released the following day. Though the script will be based on those preview performances, a definitive collector’s edition will be released shortly after.
Exciting stuff no?
First seen on Pedestrian.
