Recently hip-hop mogul Jay Z had bought a large share of Swedish streaming company Aspiro, and today he is taking the next step forward with the launch of his own streaming service Tidal, the first artist owned entertainment platform.
Along with some famous mates and the co-owners of Tidal, including his wife Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Daft Punk, Jack White, Madonna and many more, Jay Z’s launch of Tidal has been touted has a major Spotify adversary.
It may seem a little silly having the likes of Jay Z and Madonna attempting to play Robin Hood, but it is nonetheless an interesting development in the worldwide music streaming market.
