Jesse Madigan takes us on an enchanting journey of self-reflection with sophomore LP, Soft Room For Movement.
Jesse Madigan blessed our ears in late July with an ear worm of an LP, Soft Room For Movement, released via Spunk Records. The 12-track collection marks his second album release; a captivating follow-up to the widely-celebrated Nothing Better Than a Journey to You in 2020.
Packed with enchanting vocals, soul-stirring acoustics and heartfelt lyrics, Jesse Madigan takes us on a self-reflective journey, as he explores his identity and craft: “The album is me exploring. It’s an attempt to better understand myself, what my identity is and where it lies in relation to the art I’m making,” he says.
From the onset of track one, Stanwell Park Drive, we’re instantly transported to a peaceful and evocative haven. Jesse’s harmonic vocals and enchanting guitar melody offer us a soothing reprieve from life’s burdens. The follow-up track, Leaving, Tomorrow picks up the pace, lifting our spirits with vibrant guitars and an energetic beat.
Moving further along, Jesse’s enchanting tune, Time Falls is coupled with a colourful and picturesque music video that perfectly encapsulates the track’s aura, which is equal parts tranquil and uplifting, as harmonious vocals and mellow guitars team up to create a sonically pleasing and flawlessly-produced masterpiece.
Since emerging onto the music scene with his catchy, smooth and highly promising indie-pop hit, Salt back in 2019, Jesse Madigan has risen from strength. Now, with a striking repertoire of glowing releases behind him, the Newcastle-hailing artist is preparing to embark on an East Coast tour, in celebration of the new album, Soft Room For Movement, kickstarting with a show in Thirroul this weekend.
