Californian wildfires have forced hundreds of thousands of residents to flee their homes, including Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, who was residing in a house in Malibu.
It is presumed, unfortunately, that all of Parker’s equipment has been destroyed in the fires, except for his “laptop and Hofner” which the musician stated in an Instagram post.
Californian wildfires have forced thousands to flee their homes, including musician Kevin Parker. Despite the setback, we’re relieved that the musician is safe .
Other celebrities’ homes were also burned in the fire, including Scott Derrickson’s (director of Doctor Strange) and Lady Gaga’s, who took to Twitter to share her experiences and reach out to fans.
“I’m sitting here with many of you wondering if my home will burst into flames.”
Will this affect the release of new music from the musician? Parker made it clear in interviews earlier this year that he would be “really disappointed if we didn’t have something out by [next year].”
2018 was a busy year for Parker, which saw him working with an impressive array of musicians and artists. He produced for Kali Uchis and Travis Scott, and more recently, formed Theo Impala which saw the release of two songs.
Whether or not the fires affected the album release, we are relieved that the musician made it out ok and hope he hasn’t taken the setback too hard.
