King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard share an insane video for Gamma Knife

Psych lords King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard are here to get you through hump day sharing their single Gamma Knife off their upcoming album Nonagon Infinity. And in typical King Gizz style, the video is absolutely bonkers.

The video was directed by Danny Cohen, Nonagon Infinity being the first single from what will be the band’s eight album release in just three years.

Recorded at Daptone Studios in Brooklyn,  the album will be sporting a much heavier sound than they usually deliver, taking inspiration from Black Sabbath, Motorhead and Metallica.

On the recording of the album, King Gizzard frontman Stu Mackenzie told triple J “We’d grab a little riff here or a little groove there, and we’d jam on them and form songs. I wanted to have an album where all these riffs and grooves just kept coming in and out the whole time, so a song wasn’t just a song, it was part of a loop, part of this whole experience where it feels like it doesn’t end and doesn’t need to end.”

Following their last album release Paper Mâché Dream Balloon from late 2015, Nonagon Infinity is set to be released on April 29 through their own record label Flightless Records.
