What would Salvador Dali eat for brunch? Kyle Bean plays chef with his art series Artisan Brunch

Designer Kyle Bean is big on brunch. So big, that for issue 24 of Kinfolk Magazine he decided to remake the work of famous artists in the form of their favourite brunch spreads.

Salvador Dali

Melting eggs, a suspended avocado and dangling sausages: here’s what brunch looks like for five famous artists.

Bean collaborated with photographer Aaron Tilley alongside food stylist Lucy-Ruth Hathaway to create series Artisan Brunch, which was inclusive of five sculptural food works of art.

The series features fried eggs on a tree branch imitating Salvador Dali, hanging pancakes and their toppings imitating Alexander Calder, a suspended avocado as Damien Hirst’s formaldehyde cube, a mix of abstract hanging breakfast foods imitating Cornelia Parker and slices of bread covered in dots of ketchup imitating Yayoi Kusama.
