Lady Gaga is set to be the star of the latest Ridley Scott movie. The true-crime film has been in the making for a while but has officially been bought by distributor MGM as announced by The Hollywood Reporter.
Scott says the film already has a release date and will follow the story first written in Sarah Gay Forden’s book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour and Greed.
Lady Gaga is set to be the star of Ridley Scott’s latest film which follows the true story of Patrizia Reggiani; Maurizio Gucci’s wife.
Ridley Scott is an English filmmaker best known for films such as Blade Runner, Thelma and Louise and Gladiator. He and co-producer (and wife) Giannina Scott have described the newest film as energy-driven and grand, as something they’ve both wanted to create for a long time:
“This project has long been a labor of love for both Ridley and me,” says Giannina Scott. “The story is so epic, the stakes so high and the characters so richly drawn that we were determined to get it to the big screen.”
The storyline will follow the murder of Gucci by wife Patrizia Reggiani after she discovered that he had been cheating on her throughout their marriage. With the full cast and production plans yet to be publicised, we can’t wait to see what Lady Gaga will bring to the role.
Although fans of both Scott’s films and Lady Gaga will have a little wait ahead of them, with the movie set to be released in November 2021, the announcement gives us a little light at the end of the coronavirus tunnel!
