Actor Johnny Flynn has been cast to play a young David Bowie in an upcoming biopic called Stardust. The new film will follow Bowie’s first visit to the United States in 1971, and the genesis of his Ziggy Stardust persona.
Marc Maron is also set to feature in the film, portraying Bowie’s publicist, as is Jena Malone, who’ll be playing Bowie’s first wife, Angie.

According to Screen International, the new biopic will be written by Christopher Bell and directed by Gabriel Range (I Am Slave, Death Of A President). Principle photography for the film is set to kick off in June.
Johnny Flynn has just come off a run of shows in London’s West End, playing a role in Sam Shepherd’s True West alongside Game Of Throne’s Kit Harrington.
