We’ve all been associated with Pokémon at some point in our lives, whether you’re an old school card collector or a new-wave Pokémon Go addict. We’re all in love with the little pocket monsters, but if you read into the world they come from a little, there’s some unanswered questions that are a little… worrying.
What do Pokémon trainers eat? There’s no other animals in Kanto… are the restaurants serving up Magikarp sushi? And most importantly, what happens to Pikachu when you shrink him down to the size of a fist and shove him in a Pokéball?

Turns out, life inside the Pokéball isn’t too bad. According to these artists, most of them are fitted with comfy interiors featuring plush leather, rich mahogany and plenty of ways to pass the time (including a healthy amount of Nintendo products, obviously).
See all the work below, and take comfort in the fact that at least according to a majority of these artists, your little friends are safe, comfy and cozy. You no longer have to feel like you’re torturing the poor critters.
