As we roll into August, Newtown’s Bank Hotel is hitting us with a tonne of killer live acts.
A well-established Sydney institution, The Bank is located right next to Newtown station, and bears a reputation as a proving ground for the best up-and-coming local acts. This month’s crew are no exception.
After a big month of music in July, it seems that The Bank Hotel isn’t slowing down any time soon. So if you’re around Sydney, be sure to come along for what’s always a good night.
Kicking things off with a bang on August 8, Bare Minimums will be celebrating the completion of their new album before it launches. They’ll be joined by the likes of Sachet and Circus Variety Act.
On August 9 The Buoys will be lending their fuzzy yet melodic sounds to The Bank, as they venture out on their Gold single tour. The band will be supported by Imperial Broads and Goodside for what is set to be a stellar night.
Fresh from her European tour, Rebel Yell is set to launch her new single Night Drive on August 15. Accompanied by Lucy Cliche, Eternal Dust and Hugh M Hominid, get ready to dance the night away.
Andy Clockwise will be visiting Sydney from LA for one exclusive night, showcasing music off his upcoming triple record War Stories. Between his thunderous percussion and bursts of synth, get prepared for a wild night with some special guests yet to be announced.
The Bank will be finishing off the month with Bridge Club, providing a platform for the next generation of budding musicians. This free event on August 29 will see performances from new talents Harley Mavis, Poolroom and Tilda. Be sure to check the out!
