As you press play, a relentless bassline takes the stage, confidently striding in like it owns the room. Ethereal melodies dance around it, creating a musical tapestry that’s as captivating as a cityscape at twilight.

But it’s not just a head-nodding affair; it’s a full-blown immersion into an irresistible groove.

“Let Me Come Over” isn’t your run-of-the-mill love song – it’s the enigmatic twin of MAMI’s previous release. As you press play, a relentless bassline takes the stage, confidently striding in like it owns the room.

Ethereal melodies dance around it, creating a musical tapestry that’s as captivating as a cityscape at twilight. But it’s not just a head-nodding affair; it’s a full-blown immersion into an irresistible groove rod, and it’s got a darker story to unveil.

The lyrics paint a portrait of a love as daring as it is dangerous, with MAMI’s vocals fearlessly leading the charge. She’s the protagonist who dives into the deep end of romance, regardless of the tempests that might follow.

MAMI and Chunkyluv’s collaboration is a testament to musical alchemy, crafting a soundscape that’s as magnetic as it is mysterious. “Let Me Come Over” is a siren’s call to lose yourself in its intoxicating embrace.

So, if you’re ready for a musical journey that’s equal parts sophistication and allure, MAMI’s latest track is your passport to a world where charisma meets artistry. Keep your radar locked on MAMI – her star is on a trajectory that’s nothing short of meteoric.

Sometimes the best insight into a release can come from the producer behind the beats, so MAMI sat with Chunky to get to the bottom of what makes ‘LMCO’ tick.

MAMI: What was the thought process behind the sound of LMCO, and what influences pulled for this release?

Chunky: For influences, Timbaland was definitely used. You can hear it in Let Me Come Over with the synth bass being the main instrument used throughout the song and the kick pattern and sounds used. I know I wanted to make a darker-sounding type of beat, compared to the original demo it’s completely different. To complement the context of the song.

MAMI: What live elements are in the beat?

Chunky: One of the final touches we added into the beat, is a live recording of MAMI’s voice, added as a  percussion element in the song.

MAMI: For future music, artist direction. Do you believe that an artist should stick to one genre?  or branch out and do different things?

Chunky: I don’t think there’s one right or wrong answer, for some people they have one style and it works for them and they will continually make that sound. And then there’s some who want to constantly be experimenting across a range of genres.

MAMI: What do you say to people who advise against expanding genres?

Chunky: As I said before I don’t think that there’s a right or wrong answer, all styles of music are beautiful and you will never be able to make everyone happy. As long as you’re happy with your music that all that matters.

MAMI: The future sounds of MAMI and how are they changing?

Chunky: From the start of this year, we’ve really come into our approach to making music differently than before. We want to have fun with it, and as we’ve been a lover of all different genres for so long, we’ve now come into just wanting to make music that we’re feeling in that moment of time,  regardless of what genre it is. This has led to personally some of the best music we’ve ever made before.

MAMI: And what can we expect to hear in the future?

Chunky: Definitely steering away from the slow jam rob that we began with delving into more dance,  energetic music. So far we’ve made everything from garage, liquid drum, and bass, to heavy drum and bass, and now jungle.

The stuff we’re making now is just the beginning so everyone can expect to hear all of that and more in the future. The gradual progression will be heard throughout the consistent release of singles released and coming up this year and next.

MAMI: What’s the one thing throughout all these genres that will collectively be the MAMI sound?

Chunky: …Probably the one thing that will tie into all singles and music is probably you (MAMI) The way you write and your melodies are obviously always RNB influenced and the cadences and lyrics will be the one thing to keep it still MAMI across all genres.
