Maxon release 40th anniversary Keeley-modded OD808-40K Overdrive

Maxon’s original OD808 was the founding father of the Tube Screamer sound we all know and love. Now, in collaboration with pedal professors Keeley Electronics, Maxon and Godlyke Inc have created the modded OD808-40K Overdrive.

Known for its incredible warmth and organic tone, the 808 became the go-to overdrive pedal for guitarists like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Joe Satriani. Maxon Overdrive

Grab a slice of rich history and even richer tone with the OD808-40K. This collaboration with Keeley Electronics and Maxon turns this classic up to 11.

Maxon’s original OD808 was made in 1979 and was designed to emulate the natural sound of an overdriven tube amp. After being released in the Japanese market, the OD808 circuit was then licensed by Ibanez and released worldwide as the TS808 Tubescreamer.

The OD808-40K is Robert Keeley’s take on the Maxon 40th anniversary OD808. The unit features Keeley’s “Max-Gain” mod as well as increased gain, output and low-end response.

This Max gain toggle allows you to switch between the old OD808 sound and the new modded circuit from Keeley. Additionally, the pedal comes in a classic green housing, hand-signed by Robert Keeley. Production of the OD808-40K will be limited to 40 pieces, so get in quick if you’re keen.
