Step into MF Doom’s gastronomic universe with ‘Doom’s Bistro’

Beef Rapp” and “Hoe Cakes,” welcome to MF Doom’s unofficial cookbook featuring over sixty of his iconic delicacies.

Of the many qualities that render the work of MF Doom so distinct, perhaps his affinity for culinary allusions – exemplified on his anagrammatic Mm..Food LP – is the most immediately apparent.

The discography of the late hip-hop prodigy includes such tracks as “Beef Rapp” and “Hoe Cakes”, “Rap Snitch Knishes” and “Deep Fried Frenz” – and this is to say nothing of the lyrics.

The number of meals on offer in Doom’s rhymes far exceeds that of most restaurants, sure to pique the curiosity of one’s taste buds for their obscurity.

With the forthcoming release of Doom’s Bistro (Blue Monday Press), the abstract cuisine of Doom’s critically-lauded discography is given the chance to materialise.

In this unofficial cookbook, methodical recipes are devised for over sixty of his delicacies, allowing for such staples as “nice verse pie” and “fillet-o-rapper” to be brought to the kitchen table.

The options at Doom’s Bistro aren’t wholly confined to food, of course, providing in its pages a variety of cocktail recipes.

For the MF Doom fan, this villainous cookbook is an essential – and satiating – piece of memorabilia.
