Bass Persuades arrives this month, and MILEY is heading back to the stage for two very rare Los Angeles shows.
Miley Cyrus has cycled through a fair few eras at this point, but this one comes with possibly her simplest reinvention yet: lose the surname.
Now officially going by MILEY, the pop star has announced her tenth studio album, Bass Persuades, arriving September 18 via Atlantic Records, alongside two shows at the Hollywood Bowl.
And two really does seem to be the magic number here.
Miley has been pretty open about not wanting to throw herself back into the full-scale touring machine.
Last year, she said that while the opportunity to tour was absolutely there, the desire wasn’t.
So rather than suddenly announcing 60 dates and living on a bus for the next year, she’s easing back in with two nights at one of LA’s best-known venues.
The shows will take place on October 16 and 18 and mark MILEY’s first performances at the Hollywood Bowl. Model/Actriz will open both nights, with Bass Persuades set to be performed in full.
“It’s been a while,” Miley wrote alongside the announcement, also noting that the Bowl has long been one of her favourite places to see a show.
Bass Persuades comes just a year after 2025’s Something Beautiful, but Miley hasn’t used the quick turnaround as an excuse to cram another sprawling album onto streaming.
There are ten tracks. Nice and tidy.
Sonically, the record pulls from pop, rock, country and soul, with Model/Actriz appearing on ‘Different Religion’ and Miike Snow’s Andrew Wyatt featuring on ‘Neon Signs’.
Mert Alas is behind the album’s visuals, while Alastair McKimm has taken on creative direction, making the whole MILEY reset feel pretty considered.
Miley has described Bass Persuades as a love story of sorts, although not necessarily the clean, romantic kind. It takes in relationships, self-love, heartache and everything sitting awkwardly in between.
As she put it herself, the record moves through “heart full, heartache, every part of life in between.”

For anyone hoping to catch the Hollywood Bowl shows, the American Express presale begins September 8 at 10am PT, followed by an artist presale on September 9 at 10am. General tickets go on sale September 10 at 10am PT through Ticketmaster.
Whether those two dates eventually turn into something bigger remains to be seen.
For now, MILEY seems perfectly happy keeping things contained: new name, new record, two massive shows and no immediate need to spend the next 12 months on tour.
Could be onto something.
