If you’re not already familiar with Adelaide-based outfit Not For Humans, we strongly recommend you change that right now. Since forming in 2015 as the solo project of multi-instrumentalist Danny Bishop, the band have released an EP and a string of singles.
Now, with the release of their latest track Blooming, the band continue to establish themselves as one of the most exciting emerging acts in Australian psych music.
On their latest single Blooming, Adelaide-based outfit Not For Humans continue to build themselves as one of the most promising emerging acts in Aussie psych.
Throughout the new single, Not For Humans glide through their signature blend of stoner-rock, punk, grunge, and psych to craft a sound that feels simultaneously unexpected and familiar. As the band traverse through bright and crunching guitar riffs, thunderous drum beats, a seriously infectious bass line, and addictive vocal hooks, they deliver a song that’ll both smack you in the face and get stuck in your head.
With nature-inspired themes of self-confidence, Blooming gives a bright summery feel to the band’s existing stoner-rock sound, showcasing their incredible versatility.
This is the latest in a string of consistently great releases from Not For Humans, and judging by everything we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality tunes.
For now, do yourself a favour and listen to the new track above.
