New Zealand band, Pluto, have just dropped their comeback single in lieu of their highly anticipated fourth album, Oh My Lonely.
The band have just released the title track from the record and it marks Pluto’s first release in 12 years.
Pluto are back and have dropped an upbeat anthemic cut of hand-clap pop. Oh My Lonely is the first taste of music from the outfit since 2007’s Sunken Water.
NZ band, Pluto have broken radio silence dropping their first song in 12 years. Oh My Lonely is an uplifting piece of interstellar pop cut with angular, anthemic rock.
Throughout the mid 2000s Pluto were at their zenith, consistently writing rock songs that traverse unique musical landscapes combining thoughtful, introspective lyrics with sonic pop melodies. The perfect concoction for a festival main stage, their second LP Pipeline Under The Ocean went double platinum in New Zealand in 2005.
In 2009 the band broke up during the recording of their fourth album. However, seven years later, sparked by the discovery of some demo tapes, the boys were inspired to unite and finish what they started. Thus, Oh My Lonely is set to be released in September this year and is shaping up to deliver in big ways.
A stunning visual experience was directed by Milan Borich, crafting a illusory, transitory experience feeling like some message of divination from beyond the grave.

The song, however, is a gorgeous and irresistibly catchy dose of space pop spliced with anthemic rock. It harkens back to Pluto’s starkly modern sound spinning it with an even more futuristic edge.
If their latest single is anything to go by, Oh My Lonely is set to be an absolutely huge album and we cannot wait to wrap our ears around it.
Oh My Lonely will be out later this year via 5 Moon Entertainment.
Pluto will be playing two very special, and potentially final, album release shows in Novermber.
