Oxford Creative Academy announces Montaigne in Conversation: a beneficial event for anyone itching to make it in the music industry

Every artist needs their break, and for many performers the first year, or even month of their career can be the most important. Finding the right people to work with, putting the final touches on a track and pushing that first release – none of this is easy.

Oxford Creative Academy is giving emerging artists and other industry figures a chance to grab some sage advice from those who have walked the path successfully; Unearthed prodigal child Montaigne and a variety of music managers, bookers and influences representing some of Australia’s favourite acts. Oh, and it’s free.

Luke Skywalker needed Yoda and you need Montaigne in Conversation. Oxford Creative Academy is giving young music enthusiasts the chance to hear the success stories of the Aussie music industry.

The event is taking place later this month, and other speakers include Rob G (Tkay Maidza, RUFUS, Boy & Bear), Michele Porto (Holy Holy, Montaigne), Nic Kelly (Project U, Night High Records) and Michael Samouski (San Cisco, Nicole Millar).

As star-studded as any festival line-up, there will be an insane amount of insight pouring into the mic at this beneficial event. If you have an interest in the music industry or performing as an artist, it will be invaluable.

Wednesday August 24 is the date, and 6pm is the time. Hercules St Studios in Sydney’s Surry Hills is the place. All of the details can be found on the Facebook event here.
