Post Malone won’t be partaking in his famed “shoey” anytime soon. Live Nation has announced the postponement of Malone’s Big Ass World Tour in Australia.
Post Malone has called off his scheduled performances at Strummingbird Festival and postponed the Australasian leg of his Big Ass World Tour.
The rockstar rapper was set to deliver his thumping live show to audiences across Asia, as well as major cities in Australia.
The Australian shows were set to be held at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne on October 9, Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on October 12, and Sydney’s ENGIE Stadium on October 15.
Kiwi audiences will also have to hold tight following the cancellation of his show at Auckland’s Go Media Stadium.
This has come as a major blow to fans of Malone who were excited to see the singer bring his massive live show Down Under.
It follows a string of recent cancellations, with major acts like Usher and The Weeknd calling off the Australian legs of their tours due to unforeseen circumstances.
Malone first appeared in Australia in 2023, supporting the Red Hot Chili Peppers on their Unlimited Love tour.
During the run, Malone routinely brought audience members onstage to join him for a rendition of ‘Stay’, a gesture that endeared him to Aussie Chili Peppers fans.
He returned later that year with headline shows for the If Y’all Weren’t Here, I’d Be Crying tour.
Malone’s genuine gratitude for his fans comes through in his dedication to putting on an energetic live show. His commitment to the “shoey” has also seemingly won hearts all over the country.

Don Toliver, who was set to support Malone, has also called off his appearances, seemingly having double-booked himself, with an American festival performance and a Las Vegas nightclub gig falling on the same dates as the Australian and New Zealand leg.
Malone was also booked as the headliner for Strummingbird Festival, stopping in the regional cities of Ballarat on October 10, Newcastle on October 17, and the Sunshine Coast on October 18.
The festival released a statement earlier today, reading: “We’re gutted to let you know that Post Malone will no longer be headlining Strummingbird, due to the recent postponement of his Asia and Australian tours.”

The cancellation comes as another setback for the Australian music festival industry. Due to skyrocketing operational costs and dwindling ticket sales, Aussie music festivals are struggling to stay afloat, with iconic multi-genre festivals such as Groovin the Moo and Splendour in the Grass cancelling events in previous years or putting indefinite pauses on their operations.
Tyler Childers, Sam Barber and James Johnston have been announced to take Malone’s place at Strummingbird Festival.
The Australian Big Ass World Tour dates have been removed from Ticketmaster, while the Auckland show is currently listed as “Cancelled”.
No further information about new performance dates has been released.
