With a sound that’s distinctly-Australian, but evades Aussie hip-hop cliches, Bilby is back with a brand-spanking new video clip for his track Like I Told Ya.
Reminiscent of a surreal Rage clip you witnessed in the early hours of a 1990’s Saturday morning, the new video is the latest offering from a unique and forward-thinking artist who consistently bends the expectations of his genre.
A surreal and slightly-terrifying slice of nostalgia; Bilby’s new clip for Like I Told Ya sits perfectly alongside his genre-bending brand of music.
Having originally featured on his incredible 2018 album Shade, Like I Told Ya has been granted new life in this new video clip. Created by DIY filmmaker Throat Pasta, the new VHS-style video layers images of Bilby (regular Bilby) on top of Bilby (deformed Bilby) to create a truly whacked piece of footage.
The result will leave you feeling like you’ve stumbled into a B-grade Grindhouse cinema with a head full of acid.
This is the latest in a string of consistently great releases from the Sydney artist, and judging by the quality of everything we’ve seen and heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more great material.
