PREMIERE: Dandecat’s new video for Gone Without A Thought is perfectly unhinged

Melbourne-based four-piece Dandecat came storming onto the music scene with their debut single, Meat. The track, which reached number two on the triple j Unearthed charts, set the band up for success, and since the release of their second single Gone With A Thought, that success is only building.

Centred around relationships, miscommunication and how it can make you feel crazy, the video perfectly captures the themes of being unhinged. Vocalist Bridget Sharp perfectly captures those feelings both through her vocal and theatrical performance in the video.

The new track from Dandecat, Gone With A Thought, deals with themes of relationship angst, and the video is a perfect demonstration of crazy.

Exploring the theme of feeling out of your mind both lyrically, vocally and musically, the track expertly demonstrates the new band’s musical prowess. Taking influence from jazz, soul and rock, Dandecat weave their way around the styles to create a sound that is uniquely their own.

The track Gone With A Thought dropped in December last year, and demonstrated the band’s musical versatility. The accompanying video, which premiered at their video launch on February 28th, is a hyper colour dreamscape that perfectly captures how crazy relationships can make you feel. Often against your will.
