Melbourne singer/songwriter and producer Hayden Calnin is back with a new track Fuck Collingwood, following the release of his reworks album Of Collingwood earlier this year.

This single is a heartfelt and deeply personal reflection on Calnin’s former suburb of Collingwood, a culmination of his last 10 years living there.

Hayden Calnin’s latest single Fuck Collingwood is an intimate but beautiful ‘fuck you’ to the inner-city suburb of Melbourne.

Speaking about the track, Calnin shared:

I’d been living in and around Collingwood, a suburb of Melbourne, for the last 10 years. I’ve loved it, I’ve hated it, and finally I’d left it. ‘Fuck Collingwood’ is a reflection on my time living there, and about me realising that I had to get out of the city and find some space for a while, and go live near the ocean. At least for a little bit.”

Similar to the likes of Didirri, Bon Iver and James Vincent McMorrow, Fuck Collingwood features wide ranging vocals, intimate storytelling, and dreamy underlying production.

Exploring the good, the bad and the ugly of Collingwood with lyrics such as “in an alley that’s all pissed in from a Friday night out drinking, in Collingwood'”, the song is a true journey.

The seamless layering of musical elements as the song progresses produces a contemplative and meticulous aura of magic. Even if you’ll staunchly defend Collingwood through to your last breath, you’ll love this song.
