PREMIERE: Joey Legit shares introspective and infectious new single Van Gough

Joey Legit’s druggy new single Van Gough is pretty far removed from the vitriolic energy of O.E.D.B.I.T.G. and the infectious, colourful Sleepy People, but it definitely flaunts his versatility as a hip-hop artist.

Making music out of Brisbane, the young musician consistently crafts immersive beat-driven tracks that pull you in with their unorthodox vocal and instrumental melodies.

Introspective and swirling: Brisbane hip-hop artist Joey Legit’s dreamy new single Van Gough is colourful and completely immersive.

Van Gough sees Joey step things back to craft a track that feels far more introspective, and often quite hallucinatory.

With woozy production, the track will swirl around your head leaving you without concept of gravity. It’s a wonderful feeling of disorientation that’s incredibly addictive.

In the song’s accompanying video, the rapper performs out in nature, with the occasional burst of insane, glitchy imagery.

Van Gough was produced by HARVEY, mixed and recorded at ALL G Studio by tomtom, and all the video’s visuals were curated by Joey Legit himself.

This new track is the latest taste from Joey’s Falling Leaves EP, which is due out later this month. And if this new track is anything to go by, we’re in for more great material.

For now, do yourself a favour and listen to Van Gough above.
