PREMIERE: Katie Cole’s new single Graceland is an endearing slice of alt-country glory

For the past number of years now, Australian born and Nashville-based singer-songwriter Katie Cole has been releasing incredibly endearing alt-country tunes that feel simultaneously vulnerable and strong. With her raw vocal delivery, Cole will leave you hanging on each word.

Now, with the release of her new single Graceland, she has crafted another slice of captivating music that you’ll be unable to rip your attention away from.

On her new track Graceland, Australian born and Nashville-based singer-songwriter Katie Cole crafts an endearing slice of alt-country that feels simultaneously vulnerable and strong.

Throughout the new single, Katie Cole navigates a unique blend of country, folk and gospel to deliver a sound that belongs entirely to herself. Cole’s vocals weave seamlessly into the raw and earthy instrumentation to create a truly unique listening experience.

I felt very inspired after visiting the home of Elvis Presley. I think I knew immediately that I would write something about it. When I sat down with my co-writer Sam Brooker, we started to write a story about someone who has done wrong by their lover,” Cole says of the new track.

In my own life, it’s always been really hard to own up when you’ve been the ‘bad one’ in a relationship, so I wanted to follow through and tell that story. And to have the song take place in Memphis. My Producer Howard Willing brought in gospel singers and a horn section in production to bring out the soul elements in the song.

Graceland is taken off Katie Cole’s Things That Break Pt. 1 EP, which is available now. Pt. 2 of the EP is set to be released next year.
