50 years on, unreleased Elvis Presley live material is set to be released

If you’re an Elvis Presley fan, buckle up. There are three new collections that are due to emerge on August 9 this year, in anticipation of the 50th anniversary of two 1969 milestones.

The biggest of these collections, Live 1969, is a celebration of Presley’s 57-show residency at the Las Vegas International Hotel. Purchasers will receive an 11xCD set, featuring unreleased material. The set also comes with a 52-page booklet with memorabilia, photos and an oral history.

In addition to this, RCA and Legacy are set to release a 2xLP for the Presley fan base called Live at the International Hotel, Las Vegas, NV August 26, 1969.

The 1969 return of Elvis for the first time in eight years saw Presley perform 57 sold-out shows and the live debut of Suspicious Minds. During this period he was supported by two vocal groups (The Imperials and The Sweet Inspirations), a full orchestra, and a band later known as the TCB band.

Fans can now live through those Vegas shows from the comfort of their living room, and experience the talent and poise of one of the founding fathers of rock n’ roll.
