PREMIERE: Kodiak Kid’s new video for To The Point is vast and immersive

With years of DJ experience under his belt, pioneering Melbourne-based artist Kodiak Kid has built himself as a leading figure in Australia’s Bass music community. He’s performed at festivals like Splendour In The Grass, Rainbow Serpent, and Wide Open Space… but now, he’s finally gearing up to release his debut EP.

But before he launches the EP next month, he has shared a new video clip for the EP’s lead single, To The Point. It should go without saying that we’re stoked to be premiering it for you today.

On his new video for To The Point, Melbourne-based producer Kodiak Kid has teamed with Warwick Ferguson to create an immersive sonic universe.

Animated and directed by Warwick Ferguson, the new video clip is an unnerving slice of visuals that sit perfectly alongside the song’s sprawling sounds. Inspired by “the thought of letting the organic takeover from the sterile, flowing instead of angular,” the clip perfectly captures the thinking behind the song.

With Kodiak Kid’s dark, expansive sonic landscape, Ferguson has created a universe within the video that feels equally as vast. Alongside one another, the video and song create something completely immersive. Once you enter this sweeping sonic universe, you’ll never want to leave.

To The Point is the first taste of Kodiak Kid’s upcoming debut EP, and judging by the quality of what we’ve seen so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality tunes.
