PREMIERE: LamBros broaden their sonic horizons on Something Else

Since launching their debut EP in 2017, LamBros have carved out an incredibly unique sound for themselves. The Northern Beaches-based sibling duo craft music that feels simultaneously grounded and explorative; it’s rooted in earthy tones, but reaches far wider.

With the release of their latest single Something Else, the two-piece continue to establish themselves as an emerging act to watch. Here’s a hot tip from the Happy Mag team: keep an eye on this name, we’re expecting big things.

On their new single Something Else, Northern Beaches-based two-piece LamBros deliver a boundless slice of indie-rock brilliance.

Throughout the new single, LamBros (made up of Connor and Harry Lambrou) glide through a hypnotic blend of rock, soul, blues, and pop to deliver something uniquely their own. With lush intrumental arrangements and soaring vocal hooks, Something Else is oozing with infectious sonic energy.

While the track fits into the band’s broader musical vision, its release sees a significant evolution in the duo’s sound. The song still holds the endearing folk charm of their earlier work, but broadens into boundless, oftentimes psych-infused, instrumental soundscapes.

Across the track’s near four-minute run-time, the band traverse myriad sonic territories—they never sit in one place for too long. The track builds and builds, until finally you’ll be left completely immersed in their ever-growing sonic universe.

These are still relatively early days for this Sydney duo, but judging by the quality of everything we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more great tunes.

In the meantime, do yourself a favour and listen to the new single above.
