PREMIERE: Patient Lounge unveil their insane new single All You Want

It was in 2018, with the release of their debut self-titled EP Therapist, that we were first introduced to the hard-hitting sounds of the newly re-named Patient Lounge. Their music is unlike anything else currently making the rounds; it’s rooted in hard rock, but navigates myriad sonic territories.

With the release of their latest single All You Want—their first since the name change—the band have quickly established themselves as one of Aussie music’s most exciting emerging acts. It should go without saying that we’re stoked to be premiering it for you today.

On their insane new single All You Want, Brisbane-based outfit Patient Lounge deliver a sonic smorgasbord of brilliant sounds.

The new single sees Patient Lounge traverse through elements of soul, jazz, pop, prog-rock, and metal to craft a sound that is truly their own. All You Want begins with jazz-laden instrumentation and sultry vocal melodies, before transitioning into heavier waters. One moment you’ll be gliding through buttery hooks, and the next you’ll be getting smacked in the face by vitriolic guitar stabs.

As the track builds, so too does a real sense of chaos. The band flip between different time signatures like it’s nobody’s business, pulling the song in directions you’d never expect from listening to its opening 60 seconds.  The result is one of the most dynamic listening experiences we’ve come across in some time.

These are still early days for this Brissy band, but judging by the quality of everything we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality tunes.

In the meantime, do yourself a favour and listen to the new single above.
