PREMIERE: Perth indie rockers Deli Days carve it up with new single Give Up Your Ghost

A glittering mix of soaring electronic production and poetic lyricism, Perth based outfit Deli Days have hit us where it hurts with their new single Give Up Your Ghost.

The track is a romantic ballad, but with an edgy contemporary flare that sets them apart.

Deli Days

With a sound similar to that of Holy Holy and CHVRCHES, Deli Days are telling stories with cinematic landscapes and big yearning choruses.

The boys have described the track as a blend of dance electronica, distorted guitar and introspective lyricism, but Give Up Your Ghost travels so much further than this. The song progresses into a scatty little aside, almost spoken word, working well for a track which almost teeters upon repetition.

This kind of decision gives way to an understanding of the band in the sense of their attention to detail, varied influences and a faith in their own sound.

While Deli Days originated as a solo project, frontman Nic Rollo took it upon himself to flesh out the act with some high school mates. With a clear inflection of throw back electronic flare and classic guitar sounds, this is a group with a varied, yet distinct sonic vision. Although it’s still early days, this single Give Up Your Ghost may just open a few doors.

And what would a new song be without something to follow on from it? If you like what you hear, these guys have been producing dope new music all year and chucking on a couple of shows to boot. In August Deli Days released a single titled Time Bomb, which is doing the rounds on your favourite streaming service so we highly recommend you check it out.
