PREMIERE: The Astrals return with a dreamy, neon-coloured video for ‘Disappearing’

Back in March, when Claire Simpson’s solo project The Astrals released her latest single Disappearing, the world had just been plunged into lockdown. Like almost every other artist, The Astrals had to to cancel some shows, and were undoubtedly forced to put other plans on the cooler.

But now, as it appears we’re inching our way out of the pandemic, The Astrals have dropped a brand new video for the aforementioned single. Let me tell you, releases like this really gear me up to be able to see live music again.

The Astrals

To get you excited for the imminent return of nightlife, The Astrals have dropped a woozy new video for Disappearing, tracing the hallucinatory stages of a night out.

Co-directed by Georgina Hulme and Lucky Dreamer, the new video flips through a series of woozy, neon-coloured scenes. Project curator Claire Simpson floats through each shot, becoming one with the hallucinatory visuals. Clocking in at five-and-a-half-minutes, the song and its accompanying video are sprawling dreamscapes — the longer you watch, the deeper you’ll be pulled inside.

As mentioned, it appears coronavirus lockdowns are on the way out, so here’s hoping it’s not too long before we can go out and see The Astrals live once again.

Until that glorious day, check out the new video clip for Disappearing above.
