PREMIERE: The Band Woodshed unveil their debaucherous new single Gimme No Lips

For the past couple of years now, Brisbane-based three-piece The Band Woodshed have been carving out a unique space for themselves in the Australian rock scene. Their music is simultaneously grounded and dynamic; it’s ruggedly authentic, but always raucous.

Now, with the release of their latest single Gimme No Lips, the group continue to build their reputation as one of Aussie music’s most exciting emerging acts. If you’re not already paying attention to this band, it’s definitely time you changed that.

On their wild new single Gimme No Lips, Brisbane-based three-piece The Band Woodshed present a hedonistic slice of country-rock brilliance.

Across the new single’s two minute run-time, The Band Woodshed—made up of bassist Chado, drummer Greeny, and guitarist Russ—stomp through a searing concoction of country, blues, and rock n’ roll to deliver a sound that feels equal parts familiar and fresh. With rich instrumentation and flailing vocal hooks, Gimme No Lips is the kind of track that’ll stick with you for weeks.

The new single is bursting at the seams with hedonistic lyricism, painting a hazy picture of an alcohol-fuelled scenario. As the track progresses, so too does a real sense of chaos. By the time the track reaches its conclusion, you’ll have been roped in completely to The Band Woodshed’s raucous rock sounds.

Gimme No Lips is the latest in a string of consistently great releases from this Brisbane band, and judging by the quality of everything we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality tunes. Here’s hoping we won’t have to wait long to hear what they deliver next.

In the meantime, do yourself a favour and listen to Gimme No Lips above.
