PREMIERE: The Darrans will tear your face off with their blistering new video Crispy Socks

The Darrans aren’t here to fuck around. Since forming last year, the Sydney four-piece – made up of Jimmy Darran, Billy Darran (Stardust), Lukey Darran and Al Darran – have torn apart the local punk scene with their raucous brand of pub rock.

Last week, the boys released their latest double-single Crispy Socks and Come Steyne, and today we’re stoked to be premiering their brand-spanking-new video for the former of those two tracks… the elegantly titled, Crispy Socks.

Ladies and gentlemen, behold The Darrans’ frantic new video for Crispy Socks; a relentless assault of Aussie pub-punk noise.

An anthem for all us lonely men, Crispy Socks is an all-out assault of vitriolic punk noise from start to finish. With crunching guitars, pounding percussion, and flailing vocals, the song clocks in at a punchy one-and-a-half-minutes.

The track’s new music video is the perfect visual accompaniment. Directed and edited by C.O.F.F.I.N’s Ben Portnoy, the clip is absolute madness. By the time the video reaches its conclusion, you’ll be left with the voice of one anonymous punter saying “I’m gonna name my kid Darran.” And yes, boy or girl, I am indeed naming my next child Darran.

Crispy Socks will feature on The Darrans debut full-length album, which is yet to receive a specific release date. But judging by what we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality material from this Sydney band.

For now, do yourself a favour and watch the new video above.

Catch The Darrans live at The Townie in Newtown on December 7th with Bullshirt and Bad Absolom. More info here.
