Racing are back with a stressful yet mesmerising new clip, Party Slow

With the visual aesthetic of an episode of The Bill crossed with scenes from Black Mirror, New Zealand-based four piece Racing‘s latest clip for Party Slow will leave you slightly confused, possibly motion sick, maybe scared, but definitely wanting more.

Racing have described themselves as a soup brewed up with equal parts CAN, Marilyn Manson and Depeche Mode, a combination that needs to be heard to be believed.

Racing is arguably one of the most exciting bands to come out of Auckland right now. Made up of long-time collaborators Ed Knowles and Sven Pettersen of The Checks, Daniel Barrett of Sherpa, and Isaak Houston of Space Creeps, Racing are set to release their debut album REAL DANCING next month.

Their unique blend of classic rock ‘n’ roll and hypnotic electronic sounds leaves listeners in a trance, wanting more.

Party Soup follows Devil’s Work, a nauseatingly mesmerising disco-rock-and-roll hit released by the band earlier on in the year. It too will feature on their upcoming album, which will hit all streaming services on November 9.

Unfortunately Racing aren’t crossing the Tasman Sea any time soon, but if you’re a Kiwi, you’re in luck. The band is playing Homegrown Festival in Wellington on the 23rd of March, 2019.

REAL DANCING is out November 9th.
