Sydney based advocacy group Sexual Violence Won’t Be Silenced are banding together to present the event Shameless, a celebration of women in music.
The event, held in Redfern, will showcase and support some of the amazing female talent Sydney has to offer, as well as art installations by Michaela Stafford and cheap beers provided by the lords at Young Henry’s.
SVWBS was originally formed in August last year after its founding members found themselves to be victims of online harassment and threats. The cause has since received wide spread media coverage, with Shameless being their second public event after they hosted a panel in October to discuss online vilification.
Shameless will see artists Dweeb City, Morning TV and Scabz take the stage on January 29th at Projects 107 in Redfern, with all profits forward to Hey Sis, part of the Full Stop Foundation working to eliminate rape and domestic violence against Indigenous women.
