Sprocket Roasters is teaming up with Happy for BIGSOUND 2026, keeping our team and guests caffeinated across all three days at Berwick House.
Here’s the thing: conventional coffee roasters burn fossil fuels, pumping CO₂ and nitrogen oxide into the atmosphere. Sprocket’s founders, Aussie farmers turned chemical engineers, decided that wasn’t good enough.
Based in Newcastle, Sprocket designed a patented roaster that runs on bioenergy, recycled hardwood pellets, spent grinds, and coffee chaff. The result is near-zero emissions. It’s the world’s first clean-air commercial roaster of its kind.
For BIGSOUND, the real win is better coffee with a cleaner conscience, a story that matches the festival’s push for platforming emerging artists.
