A huge congrats are in order for singer-songwriter Stella Donnelly, who has taken home the Grand Prize at at WAM’s Song Of The Year Awards. The Perth-based artist scored the honour for her acclaimed track, Boys Will Be Boys.
It’s been a big year for Donnelly, who also picked up the Levi’s Music Prize at BIGSOUND, was named triple j’s Unearthed Artist Of The Year, earned five WAM Award wins and appeared at SXSW.
WAM’s Song Of The Year competition is run annually and promotes the talent and originality of West Australian residents in contemporary music.
As a sure sign that Perth artist Stella Donnelly is a star on the rise, her track Boys Will Be Boys has taken out the top honour at WAM’s Song Of The Year Awards.
The artist accepted the award via video message, stating, “Thank you so so much for my award for Song of the Year… I just want to thank the venues that have always given me shows, the people that book the shows, the amazing staff, and all of the other amazing musicians in Perth and WA.”
“I’m so so lucky to be in such a supportive scene and I can’t wait to see what it looks like next year. Thank you so much.”
Congratulations are also in order for the night’s other winners which included: Farraday’s Cage, Figurehead, Feels, The Little Lord Street Band, Coin Banks and many more.
