Step Panther Ring in the New Year with Their Favourites of 2014

Step Panther. I love them. You love them. We all bloody love em. The Sydney trio have had one hell of a year, stepping their way into the hearts of new fans one hazy guitar riff at a time. There sophomore offering Strange But Nice was released back in September and there is no denying that the boys are steadily heading on the up and up! As one of the stand out acts of the year, Happy tasked Step Panther with picking what they deemed to be the very best music of 2014. Check out their list below!

Step Panther

Ready to roar in the New Year with some sweet guitar licks? Steve Bourke of Step Panther is, so without further ado here is his picks of the best 2014 had to offer!

Jobseeker – Sleaford Mods

Sleaford Mods is the band you wanna listen to if you wanna figure out how much of a wanker you are.

Shine Your Love – Gap Dream

I listen to this more than any other song right now, and I feel pretty OK and good about it.

Headbanger – King Tuff

This is the best song ever written.

Headshave – Wax Witches

There’s a bit about a burrito and then the chorus makes you feel tingly.

Lariat – Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks

A great one by one of the greats.

Covert Discretion – Freeman

Get the fuck out of my face and just listen to the song.

My Only Friend – Bad//Dreems

Sad boiz from Adelaide doin’ what they can to make the world a little bit brighter.

Sneakers – Velociraptor

I liked it straight away because it reminded me of Elvis Costello.

Dear Ramona – Parquet Courts

I think I’m the last person to hear of this band but I like them a lot, this is the song that grabbed my attention.

I Need A Woman – Hockey Dad

Sad boiz from Wollongong doin’ their best not to disappoint their Dad.
