Earlier this year, Led Zeppelin announced they would be releasing a new photo book in honour of their 50th anniversary.
Titled Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin, it’s the first and only official illustrated book to be produced in collaboration with the members of the band. Now it’s out, and you can take a peek at what you can find inside below.
Take a peek inside Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin, the first and only official illustrated book to be produced in collaboration with the members of the band.
The 400-page book contains a huge collection of previously unpublished photos, artwork from the Led Zeppelin archives and contributions from photographers around the world.
Curated by Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones, the tome details the band’s vast history in between photographs of the core members on and offstage, “in candid moments and in the recording studio.”
“There is no shortage of books about Led Zeppelin, but they’ve never involved Led Zeppelin,” book editor Dave Brolan said. “So they wanted to show a little bit of what it was like for them, from their point of view.”
“The idea was to just visually show the best,” he said. “(The band) wanted to choose the best pictures, the best artwork, the most interesting as well. …
We have a picture from the very first performance they ever did together — which is rare, because who photographs an unknown band at their first show? We have that, we have the first trip to America, the first trip to Japan, Australia.”
