Talking Heads, the band that made quirky ‘cool’, have just come out with an official Instagram page. The group, which has been disbanded since 1991, has just signed up to the social media giant, making many fans of the group speculative of potential new music or shows to come.
The Talking Heads account hasn’t made any posts and is yet to receive the Instagram blue stamp of authenticity but its a sign at least that there could potentially be new announcements coming soon.
Talking Heads frontman David Byrne has recently been kicking up a storm with his massively successful live show which has seen countless sold-out shows including a historic performance at the Sydney Opera House as well as an appearance with a full marching band on the Jimmy Fallon show last month. There’s even been talk of Byrne’s curated show being adapted into a full-length Broadway musical.
Certainly, the steam still remains in one of the most iconic bezerk pop-rock icons of the ’80s, so with a recent take to Instagram, it’s left us wondering, what of the rest of the Heads?
Of the 8600 followers, the account has already amassed, one is none other than Talking Heads’ former guitarist and keyboard player Jerry Harrison who has been active in rehearsing with Adrian Belew and New York funk band Turkuaz to perform the iconic Remain in Light album to celebrate its 40th anniversary next year.
