The Atlas State releases their hypnotic synth tune ‘Misfire’

5-piece group, The Atlas State, unite forces with Pnau’s Nick Littlemore, to create their enticing rock tune, Misfire.

It’s not often that we are gifted with a nostalgic grunge tune that lures us into swirling haunting shadows.

But for five-piece band, The Atlas State, their new singleΒ MisfireΒ does exactly that, exploding in a pysch-rock jungle.

Coming from the release of their debut EP, The Atlas State have wasted absolutely no time, straight-shooting with Misfire.Β

The electrically vibrant tune is accompanied with a captivating lyric video, dancing with an enticing flicker of light and an eerily masked man walking as the lyrics echo:

“I can’t sleep/letting go has shaken me/maybe it’s a misfire”.Β The track was intended to invoke the anxious feelings of letting go, slamming with a psych-synth melody. “We wanted listeners to be drawn into the track and find the deeper, more subtly layered sound of synths, sitars and percussion contained within the song” the group explains.

The explosive tune speckles with hints of an Empire of the Sun hit, flickering with the hypnotism of Walking On A Dream. It comes as no surprise that Empire of the Sun and Pnau frontman, Nick Littlemore, was involved in the Misfire project, co-writing the tune.

The Atlas State, known for their iconic orange shirts and intricately textured sound, have stamped themselves on the map with this colourful and light-striking single.
