The Scene & Heard Festival lineup is the throwback you didn’t know you needed

After a massive day at Wickham Park last year, Scene & Heard has announced that the festival will not only be returning to Newcastle this year, but it’ll also be expanding north into Queensland, with two more shows in Cairns and Brisbane.

This morning, the festival dropped its huge lineup and it’s one hell of a throwback.

Scene & Heard festival is returning this October with three epic shows in Newcastle, Brisbane, and Cairns that are sure to take you back to 2005.

Across the three locations are varying line-ups with Wolfmother headlining all three shows, fresh off their international tour and appearance at Splendour in the Grass.

Eclectic indie rock favourites The Dandy Warhols will be celebrating their 25th anniversary and joining the line-up for the Newcastle and Brisbane shows.

The Newcastle and Brisbane shows will also play host to Aussie rockers British India, and a DJ set from Irish-Aussie electro-house group The Potbelleez.

Other additions to the full lineup include Alex Lloyd, who will play his 1999 Aria award-winning album Black The Sun in full, and Sneaky Sound System, who also performed at last year’s festival.

A festival spokesperson has said that “Scene & Heard is creating more than a festival. It’s creating a connection to a time. A time before people cared about ‘likes’, and festival moments weren’t Instagram opportunities but collective memories.”
