The Smashing Pumpkins have set the music community abuzz by announcing an open call for a new guitarist through a recent social media post.
Following the departure of guitarist Jeff Schroeder, who had been with the band for 16 years, Billy Corgan and James Iha are opting for an inclusive approach to find their next bandmate.
In a statement shared across various social media channels, the band stated, “The Smashing Pumpkins are in search of an additional guitarist.
The application process is open to anyone who might be interested. Applicants may submit a resume and related materials to [email protected]”

The selected guitarist will have a busy 2024 ahead, with scheduled UK and Ireland dates alongside Weezer in the summer and a subsequent North American tour with Green Day.
