The Spinning Rooms

My, my, my, me rosy ducks how times change eh? Not so long ago there was a time when electronic artists and bands were a novelty, a species rarely seen in the flesh. But these days the opposite seems to be true. So with their refreshingly real line-up of guitars, saxophone, drums and bass, The Spinning Rooms are best categorized as an old school analogue band, playing their own breed of punk and acid rock.

The Spinning Rooms are four Melbourne fellas who have been creating music since ’07. These boys have played to packed floors in a load of bars and pubs around the country and last year they supported Jello Biafra and The Guantanamo School of Medicine, Dinosaur Jr., and Primitive Calculators. They’ve released a number of singles and in September 2013, their self-titled self-released first album was pushed into the world. The album contains ten tracks and features the likes of Phil Gionfriddo (The Bowers, Jacky Winter) and Christina Arnold (The Perfections).

Know No Secrets (The Spinning Rooms) is all about the sexy sax times. With its fast paced guitars and the sax burning up the rhythm like nobody’s business, this track is a definite upper. It’s the kind you’d hear as the background score to some intense bar brawl scene in a movie. Hell, it would fit like a glove in the bar bashing orgy scene you must have witnessed in Trainspotting.
