Tincture – Tryst

Heady, evocative bars of slightly caramelized candy. An infusion of music that melts into you, hmmm… that feels like Tincture to me. Luke Dalton, a Brisbane man, is Tincture’s sugar daddy. He’s another super-talented artist that belongs to the growing umbrella of fusion/experimental electronic music. His music is fun, upbeat with just the right smattering of surrealism.

Luke kicked off his career as an electronic music producer in 2012, where he mixed a number of snazzy remixes, mixtapes and bootlegs. Last year his first official release was launched by Silo Arts & Records (FYI Alert – he’s half the brain behind the label). He’s been playing a number of shows around town and only couple of days back he had a gig with The Kite String Tangle, so he’s no stranger to live acts. But… drum roll, the big news is that on March 4, he’s set to release his debut five track EP, Tryst.

Similar Circles opens the record and as the introductory synths glide around you with the smoothness of long glittering serpents, you find yourself standing in a deserted city street lit up by a dingy orange street bulb. The drizzling rain falls on the dark street, creating ripples of morphing shapes. You take a measured drag from your cigarette, pull you coat closer to your body and in between mourning your fucked-up life, you pause to listen to the god-damn music.

You’ll love all the songs, so be ready to listen in on Tincture when Tryst drops next month.
