triple j’s Lorde remix competition has a winner! Meet Sweet Potato

Sweet Potato has been announced as the winner of the triple j Unearthed Lorde remix competition.

After Lorde handed over the stems of her hit track Homemade Dynamite to triple j Unearthed, the team sent them out into the world of bedroom producers, ready to hear something amazing.

Homemade Dynamite

“So many of you guys remixed Homemade Dynamite, it’s so amazing! There were so many cool entries. Each one I really was very impressed by for different reasons.”

The other finalists included Eilish Gilligan, Vincent Sole, Tone Youth and Aela Kae. When Lorde herself listened and judged the tracks it seems that she was more than impressed.

“I was really, very inspired and I stopped in my tracks when I heard what you’d done. It weirdly reminded me of a song I made in 2012 called ‘Million Dollar Bills’. We chopped up my voice and used it as a beat. It’s the kinda remix I’d listen to a bunch of times.”

Sydney producer Sweet Potato has absolutely nailed it and for his efforts he has been awarded two tickets to Lorde’s Sydney shows, a triple j prize pack and airplay on triple j and triple j unearthed.
