UK police drop investigation into Prince Andrew sexual abuse claim

UK police have decided not to further investigate Virginia Giuffre’s sexual assault lawsuit against Prince Andrew.

Now 38 years of age, Giuffre alleges she was trafficked to the UK by pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and forced to engage in sexual acts with Prince Andrew in 2001.

After reviewing documents connected to the case, UK police have decided not to proceed with their investigations. Officers had spoken to Giuffre who alleged Prince Andrew assaulted her on three occasions when she was 17 years old.

During an interview with BBC in 2019, Prince Andrew denied these allegations before stepping down from his royal duties.

Giuffre’s lawyer, Sigrid McCawley, said:

“Given the clear and compelling evidence implicating Prince Andrew, the Metropolitan Police should reopen its investigation and stand by their statement that no one is above the law.”

In a statement on Monday, the Metropolitan Police said, “As a matter of procedure MPS officers reviewed a document released in August 2021 as part of a US civil action. This review has concluded and we are taking no further action.”

Andrew previously avoided being served by the courts, seeking refuge at the Queen’s residence in Balmoral.

He knows he is safer up at Balmoral on the Queen’s estate.

“Andrew is always described as the Queen’s favorite son but she is meant to be on holiday at Balmoral.

Ms Giuffre’s lawsuit states that she was ‘forced to have sexual intercourse with Prince Andrew against her will’ and lists the offenses as ‘rape in the first degree’.

Prince Andrew was friends with Epstein. The pair would arrange for women to visit private residences and islands with some of the world’s most richest and famous people.

Epstein was found dead in his cell in August of 2019 with suspicions around his death. He was awaiting trial for allegations of mass trafficking and procurement of young teens with the help of Ghislaine Maxwell.
