Following on from winning the triple j Unearthed High competition of 2019, 17-year-old singer-songwriter George Alice has returned with her follow-up single Stuck In a Bubble.

George Alice

Stuck In a Bubble is the ultimate indie-pop bop, its tantalising sound foreshadowing great heights for George Alice – heights she’s achieving at an impressively young age.

Winning Unearthed High in 2019 at the tender age of 16 saw George Alice swept into a whirlwind that was beyond the artist’s wild dreams, including a considerable number of festival performances, as well as opening for the likes of Vera Blue, Tash Sultana, and Broods. But in recent months ¡the artist has been getting down to the nitty gritty, creating more music for her fans.

As Alice began to gain recognition, it became apparent that she held a fierce female energy which would explode in forthcoming releases. Not only is this present in her newest track, but also in the artist’s visual aesthetics, enlisting an entirely female production team to bring her creative vision to life in the accompanying music video to Stuck In a Bubble.

The fun, vibrant and colourful clip sees George team up with a number of Unearthed alumni as well as a team of professional dancers to create a quirky, lo-fi, video call aesthetic. While sweet and playful in nature, it’s clear that the video will one day be symbolic of this time in our lives where worldwide lockdowns forced us to become imaginative in order to create meaningful connections.

The track has been flawlessly produced by NASAYA and mixed by the incredible Neal Pogue, who has worked with the likes of Tyler The Creator and Anderson Paak. In particular, Stuck In a Bubble showcases George’s stunning vocal ability.

Reflection on the track, Alice stated:

“I’m hoping Stuck In a Bubble can be heard as an anthem for people young and old who feel like their ground isn’t steady, they don’t have plans, and ultimately are just a little confused about the world around them. I’m filled with questions I don’t think I will ever find answers to, but hopefully this is the arm of comfort reaching towards you to be on this journey together.”
