Vivid announces lineup for Vivid Music

Vivid, that international light spectacular of ours, has announced an thoroughly bumper of artists to perform during its three-week long run.

Morrissey, Sufjan Stevens and Daniel Johns all headline a golden list of names that also include Flume, Flight Facilities, TV on the Radio, Seekae, Touch Sensitive, The Preatures, Bill Callahan, Squarepusher and The Drones.

On top of that, Red Bull Music Academy, Simon Caldwell’s Mad Racket, Goodgod, Astral People and Elefant Traks will all be hosting their own curated parties that are sure to get even the squarest person absolutely loose. (Future Classic will also be running their own show, which is how Flume, Flight Facilities, Touch Sensitive and Seekae are included).

On top of that, Vivid will also be running Vivid Ideas, which incorporates talks by various creative industry icons (e.g. Matthew Weiner, creator of Mad Men) and a range of other arts-focused workshops, seminars, interactives and even a marketplace.

As always, there’ll be the light show and light-based art installations in the harbour and around the city. Performances and all the other arty things won’t be on during every day of the festival, so don’t anticipate Daniel Johns playing 20-odd shows.

Vivid Sydney will take place between Friday 22 May and Monday 8 June. To get the official details, tickets and the full list of artists and parties, visit Vivid’s main site or their music subpage.
